After having played for 2 minutes, Dick Spivey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Murdochville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dick Spivey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dick Spivey in the 7th minute of play forced Mississauga Mavericks's goalkeeper Renard Stovall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dick Spivey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Mississauga Mavericks getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Shad Hutchins hit a great ball. Brandon Fontenot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dick Spivey in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renard Stovall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brandon Fontenot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Renard Stovall made a huge save. In the 23rd minute, Brandon Fontenot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute Osvaldo Querry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taylor Fagan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brandon Fontenot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renard Stovall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dick Spivey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brandon Fontenot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brandon Fontenot who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Renard Stovall when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dick Spivey in the 37th minute of play forced Mississauga Mavericks's goalkeeper Renard Stovall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dick Spivey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dick Spivey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Renard Stovall made a huge save. If Brandon Fontenot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mississauga Mavericks fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dick Spivey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Renard Stovall dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Renard Stovall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brandon Fontenot in the 63rd minute of the match. Dick Spivey struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Renard Stovall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murdochville. Mississauga Mavericks's Osvaldo Querry got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lonnie Coronado's late challenge caught a Mississauga Mavericks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lonnie Coronado helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Murdochville's Lonnie Coronado got a free kick in the 74th minute. Mississauga Mavericks's Renard Stovall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brandon Fontenot in the 78th minute of play. Renard Stovall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dick Spivey's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mississauga Mavericks's zone, Brandon Fontenot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renard Stovall came out of the goal and Brandon Fontenot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 85th minute Dick Spivey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renard Stovall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 minutes, Geraldo Pack mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mississauga Mavericks and the Murdochville players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Mississauga Mavericks defense, Dick Spivey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renard Stovall. The Mississauga Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renard Stovall should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dick Spivey in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal.
