The referee ignored Lefroy's protests and gave Mitchel Nunez a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Wembley a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eldridge Beausoleil, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lefroy's Santo Henrichon. 0-2. Lefroy's Santo Henrichon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Rogers in the 43rd minute of play.
