Darryl Means was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Darryl Means didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonel Nadeau went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Mean Green Machine's Darryl Means played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Nadeau in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Portugal FC's goalkeeper William Begin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antoine Rivard. The Portugal FC fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Portugal FC's Leonel Nadeau looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 23rd play minutes Leonel Nadeau shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Darryl Means and just under the crossbar into goal. Leonel Nadeau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darryl Means having to interfere. After some careless play in the Mean Green Machine defense, Leonel Nadeau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Darryl Means. The Mean Green Machine fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Darryl Means should have stopped the shot. Darryl Means made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Nadeau in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Mean Green Machine booed when Portugal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorsey Landis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antoine Rivard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but William Begin made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Leonel Nadeau made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Leonel Nadeau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Nadeau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darryl Means breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dorsey Landis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dorsey Landis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Darryl Means tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonel Nadeau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darryl Means having to interfere. Darryl Means took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Nadeau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Leonel Nadeau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Octavio Vaillancourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 minutes, Leonel Nadeau made it 0-7 with a short kick to the right side. Mean Green Machine's Darryl Means tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 86 minutes into the game, Leonel Nadeau recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Darryl Means. Leonel Nadeau showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. Leonel Nadeau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darryl Means having to interfere. Mean Green Machine's Darryl Means played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ambroise Winters in the 91st minute of play. Darryl Means stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ambroise Winters's shot from short distance in the 94th minute.
