The tension between the Real Vancouver Club and the Holl holl players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Real Vancouver Club getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Benedict Hyatt hit a great ball. 1-0 became the score in the 23rd minute when Gaétan Echeverri elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Al Beaulac fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Holl holl's protests and gave Al Beaulac a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Real Vancouver Club's Gaétan Echeverri slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Normand Knox. That made the score 2-0 after 31 minutes of play. Bobbie Woodruff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Ransom in the 35th minute of the match. Bobbie Woodruff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huey Darden, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Barthélémy Aguilera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaétan Echeverri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaétan Echeverri to strike the kick off in the second half. Gaétan Echeverri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Normand Knox having to interfere. Bobbie Woodruff didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 67th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Real Vancouver Club's Bobbie Woodruff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamie Zapata in the 71st minute of play. Jamie Zapata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Normand Knox stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaétan Echeverri's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute.
