The supporters of Toronto FC booed when Dobermans was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oren Trépanier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dobermans's goalkeeper Bertram Saindon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Rudolf Charlesbois got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Bertram Saindon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elliott McGuire, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elliott McGuire in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bertram Saindon saved Dobermans from getting behind. If Elliott McGuire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sol Gordon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudolf Charlesbois in the 55th minute of the match. In the 57th minute Chuck Pichette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sol Gordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marty Mercure's late challenge caught a Dobermans's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marty Mercure helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Dobermans booed when Toronto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Mercure didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the game, Vaughn Cordero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toronto FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dobermans the free kick. A collision led to Toronto FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Vaughn Cordero hit a great ball. After 69 played minutes Toronto FC got a freekick which was hit by Elroy Moser. Chuck Pichette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chuck Pichette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sol Gordon having to interfere. After 79 played minutes Dobermans got a freekick which was hit by Nicodème Goodson. In the 80th minute, Lanny Klein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rudolf Charlesbois recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bertram Saindon made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Ellsworth Madden sent off a good shot on target. Nicodème Goodson hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Chuck Pichette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Sol Gordon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sol Gordon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudolf Charlesbois, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Dobermans had won after a very even match.
