Spectators: 6845 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 0) Sylvester Brian started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Iréné Déziel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sylvester Brian in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Jamestown AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Clinton Barnes came free, but Iréné Déziel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hilton Grant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdinand Dale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferdinand Dale during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Iréné Déziel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sylvester Brian in the 12th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Jamestown AFC's Papillion Huntley got a free kick in the 13th minute. Sylvester Brian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Champlain's Sylvester Brian got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ray Ziegler kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes, Champlain's Rosario Solis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iréné Déziel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Champlain reached it. When Clinton Barnes came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Champlain fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clinton Barnes couldn't finish the play. Alejandro Souplet who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Hilton Grant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Alejandro Souplet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinand Dale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Hilton Grant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Clinton Barnes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Champlain's supporters rose to their feet, but Clinton Barnes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iréné Déziel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ferdinand Dale made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Jamestown AFC's Hector Lovett seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hector Lovett the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Jamestown AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hector Lovett had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Iréné Déziel went to the wrong direction when Rosario Solis was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Clinton Barnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Sylvester Brian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 70 played minutes Jamestown AFC got a freekick which was hit by Michal Robertson. Sylvester Brian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sylvester Brian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Champlain's Diodore McNeal got a free kick in the 75th minute. Jamestown AFC's Patrick Davenport couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 76th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Champlain. Alejandro Souplet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilton Grant having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Alex Poirier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jamestown AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Champlain the free kick. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jamestown AFC! An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Souplet in the 99th minute of play forced Champlain's goalkeeper Hilton Grant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Champlain eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
