Ashley Ivey might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Garland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ashley Ivey ran back to his position shaking his head. Jean Oleary received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Julio Garland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Garland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ashley Ivey in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, The Friction's goalkeeper Julio Garland had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ashley Ivey. Jean Oleary fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Garland having to interfere. Ashley Ivey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Julio Garland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ashley Ivey who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Julio Garland when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Andy Sexton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Garland having to interfere. Ashley Ivey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Julio Garland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of The Friction booed when Newport Park was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Nieves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ashley Ivey did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Julio Garland 48 minutes into the match.

If Andy Sexton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 minutes of play, Newport Park's Ashley Ivey made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Garland was left in no man's land by his defense there! Henry Casgrain kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Louis Beck kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Ferdinand Boyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in The Friction's zone, Jean Oleary stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Garland came out of the goal and Jean Oleary tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Garland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Sexton, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. When Ashley Ivey came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Newport Park fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ashley Ivey couldn't finish the play. If Ferdinand Boyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Newport Park booed when The Friction was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daren Hawthorne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luigi Parra hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Ashley Ivey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 93 minutes of play The Friction's Luigi Parra was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 94 played minutes The Friction got a freekick which was hit by Luigi Parra.
