With a left leg Cruz Lockett saved Morrisburg Lions from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Leonardo Charlebois put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cruz Lockett. In the 11th minute, Jörn Myhr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Bryant Primeau fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morrisburg Lions's protests and gave Bryant Primeau a yellow card for diving instead. Cruz Lockett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Charlebois, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute, Elwood Sykes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gaétan Richter, passed just outside the right post. Jörn Myhr's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaétan Richter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Jörn Myhr scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaétan Richter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gaétan Richter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jörn Myhr in the 37th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Herbert Rossi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gaétan Richter. That made the score 3-1 in the 39 minute of play. The supporters of Morrisburg Lions booed when SC Dillon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Faucher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Charlebois in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cruz Lockett prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Charlebois to make the kick off. Elwood Sykes hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Cruz Lockett was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kelly Boggs. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Charlebois during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jörn Myhr might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gaétan Richter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jörn Myhr ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Elwood Sykes sped through SC Dillon's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gaétan Richter. After a defensive mix-up in SC Dillon's zone, Elwood Sykes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaétan Richter came out of the goal and Elwood Sykes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute, Elwood Sykes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Morrisburg Lions fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Elwood Sykes scored 7-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaétan Richter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Jörn Myhr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Morrisburg Lions's Jörn Myhr got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Elwood Sykes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SC Dillon's zone, Berry Fields stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaétan Richter came out of the goal and Berry Fields tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee ended the match the Morrisburg Lions players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
