Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sandy Crowe made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 played minutes Elma got a freekick which was hit by Julien Greenwood. Elma's Roger Mathieu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandy Crowe in the 5th minute of play. Sandy Crowe scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roger Mathieu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Coquitlam F.C.'s Sandy Crowe got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th match minute, Elma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sal Calloway to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Sterling Rangel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bert Labonté showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Bourque, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 47th minute of the match, Sandy Crowe got a very nice opportunity to score, but Roger Mathieu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lorenzo Parmentier to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Nazaire Sprague mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coquitlam F.C. and the Elma players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nazaire Sprague kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the game, Sandy Crowe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coquitlam F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elma the free kick. Sandy Crowe hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Martin Bowden's late challenge caught a Coquitlam F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Elma's zone, Nazaire Sprague stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Mathieu came out of the goal and Nazaire Sprague tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roger Mathieu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adan Duplessis in the 65th minute of the match. Elma's Francis Bourque got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute Nazaire Sprague shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Mathieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Coquitlam F.C.'s Nazaire Sprague nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger Mathieu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Elma:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Coquitlam F.C.:s goal. In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Coquitlam F.C.. Jame Willoughby stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Roger Mathieu. 3-0. In the 89th minute Sandy Crowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Mathieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lorenzo Parmentier came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Elma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lorenzo Parmentier couldn't finish the play. Coquitlam F.C.'s Bert Labonté proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Coquitlam F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 96thth minute of the game Sandy Crowe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elma's Roger Mathieu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee ended the match the Coquitlam F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
