Sal Provencher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, one of Mancity Eagles:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beau Herrera in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolas McMullen saved Mancity Eagles from getting behind. The Mancity Eagles fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Mancity Eagles's Markus Barber looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mary Colon in the 44th minute of play forced Avonport's goalkeeper Sal Provencher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolas McMullen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Logan Dukes in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erick Lemaître stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Mancity Eagles's Erick Lemaître nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sal Provencher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 55th minute, Erick Lemaître got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thad Avila charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thad Avila the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Avonport getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Thad Avila hit a great ball. Mancity Eagles's Erick Lemaître got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sal Provencher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erick Lemaître, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Beau Herrera dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nicolas McMullen, 2-2. If Mary Colon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avonport had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
