Ira Ransom's late challenge caught a Low's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 29 played minutes, Low's Ermenegilde Marcum shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Arsenault came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Low reached it. Elmo Casey was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Derek Weston capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Derek Weston really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. If Fernando Strong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernando Strong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Elmo Casey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Derek Weston might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elmo Casey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Derek Weston ran back to his position shaking his head. Derek Weston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elmo Casey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Derek Weston in the 45th minute. Elmo Casey made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Derek Weston sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmad Payne was the one to do the kick off. Elmo Casey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Strong in the 58th minute of play. Derek Weston took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elmo Casey. Elmo Casey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Elmo Casey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leroy Dalton, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The audience was convinced that Derek Weston's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elmo Casey was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Elmo Casey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Strong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chong Pack received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlos Arsenault came out and tried to block the shot, but Chong Pack slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 72nd minute. River Plate Mtl's Fernando Strong got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 78 minutes into the game, Derek Weston cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Elmo Casey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Derek Weston scored 5-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elmo Casey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmad Payne in the 84th minute of play forced River Plate Mtl's goalkeeper Carlos Arsenault to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elmo Casey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek Weston in the 86th minute of play. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 6-2 when Leroy Dalton sped through Low's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elmo Casey. 93 minutes into the match, River Plate Mtl's Fernando Strong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elmo Casey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that River Plate Mtl were the better team. River Plate Mtl's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
