The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nelson Wynn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Royce Connolly in the 3rd minute of play. In the 7th minute Richard Cliche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Wynn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Royce Connolly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jeffrey Malone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Bobbie Paul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portage's supporters rose to their feet, but Bobbie Paul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renard Vance breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeffrey Malone could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Renard Vance made a huge save. Royce Connolly might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nelson Wynn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Royce Connolly ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeffrey Malone got free with Renard Vance in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Royce Connolly in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelson Wynn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Portage's Nelson Wynn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Royce Connolly in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Portage booed when ManchestercityBlues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Vera didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, ManchestercityBlues's Renard Vance got control of the ball when Jeffrey Malone tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Royce Connolly came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the ManchestercityBlues fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Royce Connolly couldn't finish the play. Philip Manley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 53 minutes into the match, Bobbie Paul had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renard Vance. ManchestercityBlues's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bobbie Paul was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Philip Manley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nelson Wynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Portage's Nelson Wynn got control of the ball when Philip Manley tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eduardo Clinton's late challenge caught a ManchestercityBlues's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Portage's Bobbie Paul got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Philip Manley kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. If Jeffrey Malone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Portage succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though ManchestercityBlues had controlled the match.
