With a little luck, Vancouver AFC's Olin Rubio got control of the ball when Allen Shannon tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Jules Stringer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colonsay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jules Stringer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olin Rubio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Isidro Fitzgerald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Jules Stringer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colonsay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jules Stringer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vancouver AFC's Olin Rubio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Vancouver AFC from getting a goal against them. Anibal Watson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eloi McPherson having to make a save. When Vancouver AFC's Anibal Watson in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Isidro Fitzgerald could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Olin Rubio made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allen Shannon in the 38th minute of play forced Vancouver AFC's goalkeeper Olin Rubio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Isidro Fitzgerald put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Olin Rubio. Olin Rubio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jules Stringer in the 43rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Colonsay's Allen Shannon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olin Rubio. That made the score 3-0 after 44 minutes of play. Olin Rubio made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Miguel Sierra sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The tension between the Colonsay and the Vancouver AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Doyle Faucher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidro Fitzgerald in the 94th minute of play forced Vancouver AFC's goalkeeper Olin Rubio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Jules Stringer notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Vancouver AFC's Olin Rubio. Olin Rubio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Colonsay walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
