Olen McMullen came out of the goal and Sherman Harrington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sherman Harrington in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olen McMullen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chung Vincent during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 played minutes Bergland got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Dailey. In the 36th minute, Ignacio Gregory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bo Timmons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olen McMullen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sherman Harrington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bo Timmons's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olen McMullen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 61stth minute of the game Sherman Harrington who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Edgington AFC's Olen McMullen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Edgington AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sherman Harrington came free, but Olen McMullen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Bergland's goal looked a bit too open when Stanton Laisné came free, but Theo Parham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th match minute, Edgington AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlie Winters to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bergland had won after a very even match.
