After a defensive mix-up in Blue Jays SC's zone, Marion Woody stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dexter Duke came out of the goal and Marion Woody tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Blue Jays SC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Kim Louis hit a great ball. Clair Hayes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Ruth having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Cantrell in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dexter Duke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Blue Jays SC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Hercule Redd hit a great ball. MacKay AFC's Ariel Ruth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Moquin in the 22nd minute of play. Neil Moquin might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ariel Ruth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Neil Moquin ran back to his position shaking his head. 31 minutes into the match, MacKay AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Clair Hayes came free, but Ariel Ruth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clair Hayes during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of MacKay AFC booed when Blue Jays SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clair Hayes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, MacKay AFC's Gail Jimenez tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Marion Woody's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dexter Duke was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Ariel Ruth made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Neil Moquin sent off a good shot on target.
