After some careless play in the Moose FC defense, Gilberto Vieira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jake Kitchen. The Moose FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jake Kitchen should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute Sam Miner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gösta Häll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Kitchen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CA Palmeiras's Gösta Häll played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Jacques in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to CA Palmeiras getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Anton Christie hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the game, Armel Coulombe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CA Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moose FC the free kick. Mitch Browne shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Miner in the 33rd minute of play forced CA Palmeiras's goalkeeper Gösta Häll to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armel Coulombe hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Sam Miner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gösta Häll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilberto Vieira to make the kick off. Gösta Häll made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Miner in the 53rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Raymond Combs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gösta Häll was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Moose FC's Mitch Browne got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Abel Jacques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gösta Häll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Kitchen was a little too slow when Gilberto Vieira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-2. A collision led to CA Palmeiras getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Anton Christie hit a great ball. Sam Miner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gösta Häll read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Gilberto Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 94th play minutes Gilberto Vieira shot 2-3, a short shot which went by Jake Kitchen and just under the crossbar into goal.
