But to his dismay, Baiardo Toyo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Toronto FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Pritchett was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match, Abraham Mejia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ethan Velazquez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hervé Watson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ethan Velazquez came out and tried to block the shot, but Hervé Watson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 58th minute. Tim Tovar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ethan Velazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the last second Ethan Velazquez throw himself and got hold of the ball when Tim Tovar in the 63rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Ethan Velazquez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Mejia in the 64th minute. After 69 played minutes Toronto FC got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Mejia. 70 minutes into the match, Toronto FC's goal looked a bit too open when André Pritchett came free, but Papillion Cheek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
