An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavies Bedoya in the 12th minute of play forced Arruaca's goalkeeper Pavel Tushkov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Arruaca's goal looked a bit too open when Rod Tobin came free, but Pavel Tushkov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rod Tobin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristo Nofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damazy Piszczor in the 19th minute of play. Pavel Tushkov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavies Bedoya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Piszczor in the 27th minute of play forced CFR Sibiu's goalkeeper Cristo Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damazy Piszczor succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 27th playminute. In the 31st minute Costel Novăceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Tushkov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of CFR Sibiu booed when Arruaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sylvestre Ouellet didn't get a good kick on the ball. When CFR Sibiu's Costel Novăceanu in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Damazy Piszczor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Costel Novăceanu kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Piszczor in the 45th minute of play forced CFR Sibiu's goalkeeper Cristo Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Damazy Piszczor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cristo Nofre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donatien Braden made a kick off. A collision led to Arruaca getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Donatien Braden hit a great ball. Cristo Nofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damazy Piszczor in the 52nd minute of play. Cristo Nofre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donatien Braden in the 54th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Xavies Bedoya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th minute Donatien Braden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Nofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute of the match Arruaca got a corner. CFR Sibiu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Damazy Piszczor ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Rod Tobin came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the CFR Sibiu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rod Tobin couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Piszczor in the 69th minute of play forced CFR Sibiu's goalkeeper Cristo Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 76 minutes, Donatien Braden made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 80th minute of the match CFR Sibiu got a corner. Arruaca's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hipólito Zambujal ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pavel Tushkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Novăceanu in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute Damazy Piszczor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Nofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Corentin Darling made in the 89th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by CFR Sibiu's Anselme Singletary. Pavel Tushkov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costel Novăceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Costel Novăceanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pavel Tushkov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Costel Novăceanu ran back to his position shaking his head. Arruaca's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
