Erwin Bush scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manuel Medeleanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 6th minute, Erwin Bush left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 11 played minutes FC Mercier-Est got a freekick which was hit by Jayson Ham. Sébastien Hodges did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-0 to the left of a surprised Manuel Medeleanu 12 minutes into the match. Thommy Vuerinx hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jayson Ham in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arden Ryder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manuel Medeleanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erwin Bush's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After having played for 33 minutes, 谢皓亮 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's supporters crossed their fingers, but 谢皓亮 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thommy Vuerinx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 40 minutes into the match, FC Mercier-Est's goal looked a bit too open when 谢皓亮 came free, but Manuel Medeleanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute Laurențiu Costandache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arden Ryder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Medeleanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erwin Bush, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sébastien Hodges was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erwin Bush in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Mercier-Est's goalkeeper Manuel Medeleanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd match minute, FC Mercier-Est was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gazi Erdönmez to maneuver through the defense. Erwin Bush sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignace Bailey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Arden Ryder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 67 minutes on the clock, Kip McFarland commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 66th minute, one of FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's Arden Ryder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 from getting a goal against them. In the 78th minute, 谢皓亮 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Clark Lamontagne fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's protests and gave Clark Lamontagne a yellow card for diving instead. Clark Lamontagne hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Arden Ryder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignace Bailey in the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 minutes FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ludomil Trzaskoma who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Gazi Erdönmez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Laurențiu Costandache scored to the left of an out of position Arden Ryder, making the score, 5-2. Jayson Ham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to FC Mercier-Est getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Merrill Hanson hit a great ball.
