Patrick Hillman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Arden Ryder made a huge save. Carlos Whitmore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erwin Bush in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's goalkeeper Arden Ryder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidney Aupry. In the 23rd minute of the match, Patrick Hillman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arden Ryder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Carlos Whitmore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erwin Bush, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. A nice corner shot did that Clark Lamontagne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carlos Whitmore quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 谢皓亮 struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Carlos Whitmore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919. In the 39th play minute Rosario Cardona came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Arden Ryder. 2-0. Erwin Bush hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Stjohn in the 43rd minute of play forced FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's goalkeeper Arden Ryder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arden Ryder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Aupry in the 45th minute of play. Carmen Langford hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Carlos Whitmore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erwin Bush in the 50th minute of play. In the 50th minute, Erwin Bush ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Whitmore was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a rather tough play, Quebec city FC's Rudolph Hutchinson got a free kick in the 54th minute. Clark Lamontagne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timmy Newcomb during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Quebec city FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Timmy Newcomb hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Erwin Bush's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Whitmore was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Arden Ryder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Stjohn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Whitmore made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erwin Bush in the 61st minute. In the 62nd match minute, Quebec city FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudolph Hutchinson to maneuver through the defense. When Rudolph Hutchinson fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quebec city FC's protests and gave Rudolph Hutchinson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 booed when Quebec city FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilburn Eason didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's Clark Lamontagne broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 91st match minute, Quebec city FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timmy Newcomb to maneuver through the defense. Erwin Bush sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Quebec city FC's Carlos Whitmore got control of the ball when Sébastien Hodges tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
