Spectators: 9270 (Terracing: 6954, Seating: 2132, VIP seats: 184) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ignace Bailey kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thommy Vuerinx in the 4th minute of play forced Toronto United's goalkeeper Kauã Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abraham Fitzgerald kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Kauã Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignace Bailey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Jayson Ham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauã Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jayson Ham in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kauã Paranaense saved Toronto United from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in FC Mercier-Est's zone, Gösta Enegren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Medeleanu came out of the goal and Gösta Enegren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Toronto United's Lou Walker got a free kick in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Toronto United's goal looked a bit too open when Ignace Bailey came free, but Kauã Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ignace Bailey's late challenge caught a Toronto United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ignace Bailey helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Toronto United booed when FC Mercier-Est was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignace Bailey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 19 played minutes, Toronto United's Güngör Yüce shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manuel Medeleanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Toronto United reached it. If Elwood Keys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Eleazar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manuel Medeleanu. Rodolfo Eleazar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of Toronto United booed when FC Mercier-Est was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludomil Trzaskoma didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Mercier-Est's Manuel Medeleanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Eleazar in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute Toronto United were awarded a corner. Güngör Yüce went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 37th minute Laurențiu Costandache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauã Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, FC Mercier-Est's Manuel Medeleanu got control of the ball when Rodolfo Eleazar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kauã Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Costandache, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, Elwood Keys ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Medeleanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. FC Mercier-Est's Manuel Medeleanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Eleazar in the 58th minute of play. Manuel Medeleanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Eleazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gu Sha Xi during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 76th minute Rodolfo Eleazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Medeleanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elwood Keys recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kauã Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jayson Ham in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, FC Mercier-Est was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ludomil Trzaskoma to maneuver through the defense. After 86 played minutes, Toronto United's Güngör Yüce shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manuel Medeleanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
