The Spondin AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeffrey Griggs should have stopped the shot. Gervais Becerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Arden Ryder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arden Ryder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gervais Becerra in the 13th minute. Wes Lyles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Arden Ryder made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wes Lyles in the 19th minute of play forced FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's goalkeeper Arden Ryder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Erwin Bush had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Damien Person hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arden Ryder didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clair Viens went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Jeffrey Griggs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sébastien Hodges, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Arden Ryder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wes Lyles's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute 谢皓亮 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Griggs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Spondin AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clark Lamontagne took the corner. The corner ended in Clark Lamontagne almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Spondin AFC's Jeffrey Griggs did a great save. Arden Ryder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wes Lyles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Wes Lyles kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arden Ryder. That made the score 3-2 in the 48 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wes Lyles to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Spondin AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Clark Lamontagne came free, but Jeffrey Griggs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arden Ryder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clair Viens, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Spondin AFC were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clair Viens took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Wes Lyles heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 62 minutes into the match, Spondin AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Clark Lamontagne came free, but Jeffrey Griggs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Spondin AFC's Damien Person got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Spondin AFC's zone, Clark Lamontagne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeffrey Griggs came out of the goal and Clark Lamontagne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Spondin AFC's Jeffrey Griggs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clark Lamontagne in the 67th minute of play. Gervais Becerra took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arden Ryder. Arden Ryder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. In the 72ndth minute of the game Wes Lyles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's Arden Ryder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sébastien Hodges got free with Jeffrey Griggs in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arden Ryder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wes Lyles in the 74th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's goal looked a bit too open when Georges Huard came free, but Arden Ryder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Joey England had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arden Ryder. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joey England was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Jeffrey Griggs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sébastien Hodges in the 80th minute of the match. After 83 minutes of play, Spondin AFC's Gervais Becerra made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arden Ryder was left in no man's land by his defense there! Spondin AFC's Yann Gilliam was substituted for Jules Patenaude. In the 91st minute Gervais Becerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arden Ryder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 91 played minutes Spondin AFC got a freekick which was hit by Clair Viens. A collision led to FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Andy Olson hit a great ball. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
