Diego Peter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thommy Vuerinx went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Manuel Medeleanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Anaya in the 25th minute of play. Federico Nielsen's late challenge caught a Lav Zivotinja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diego Peter came out of the goal and Thommy Vuerinx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Thommy Vuerinx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Diego Peter. That made the score 3-0 in the 40 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ignace Bailey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lav Zivotinja's goalkeeper Diego Peter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lav Zivotinja's Diego Peter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thommy Vuerinx in the 52nd minute of play. The corner led Lav Zivotinja's Dillon Huggins to fire away a dangerous shot which Manuel Medeleanu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
