In the 2nd minute Thommy Vuerinx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Griggs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ignace Bailey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeffrey Griggs was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Spondin AFC's Jeffrey Griggs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignace Bailey in the 10th minute of play. Georges Huard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Mercier-Est's Manuel Medeleanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wes Lyles in the 12th minute of play. Manuel Medeleanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wes Lyles, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Manuel Medeleanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clair Viens in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Jayson Ham managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Mercier-Est's supporters rose to their feet, but Jayson Ham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeffrey Griggs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute, Wes Lyles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georges Huard in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Mercier-Est's goalkeeper Manuel Medeleanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Ernesto Barger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeffrey Griggs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jayson Ham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Spondin AFC's Georges Huard got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Ignace Bailey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clair Viens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Medeleanu having to interfere. Clair Viens hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. If Georges Huard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Medeleanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georges Huard in the 68th minute of play. FC Mercier-Est's Manuel Medeleanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervais Becerra in the 72nd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Jeffrey Griggs successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Manuel Medeleanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wes Lyles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Spondin AFC's Jeffrey Griggs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurențiu Costandache in the 78th minute of play. Spondin AFC made a substitution. Yann Gilliam replaced Jules Patenaude. A collision led to FC Mercier-Est getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Federico Nielsen hit a great ball. Spondin AFC's Jeffrey Griggs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Spondin AFC from getting a goal against them. Manuel Medeleanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wes Lyles, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Jeffrey Griggs came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Mercier-Est's Thommy Vuerinx. But to his dismay, Thommy Vuerinx quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The FC Mercier-Est supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Mercier-Est would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
