An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Di Lillo in the 13th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe S.K.'s goalkeeper Kristian Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hershel Guertin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute Christian Desaulniers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute of the match, Qiao Qi Bo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Melchor Elija was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Kristian Martinsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Di Lillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Sunnyvale FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rickey McLain in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute, Cruz Lentz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute Christian Desaulniers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sunnyvale FC's Beau Mayo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Francesco Basso, made in the 24th minute of the game. Sunnyvale FC's attentive Beau Mayo managed to snatch the ball when Francesco Basso made a throw-in in the 26th minute of the game. Octav Chificeac's late challenge caught a Sunnyvale FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee ignored Sunnyvale FC's protests and gave Rickey McLain a yellow card for diving instead. Cristian Iacob recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Christian Desaulniers came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Fenerbahçe S.K. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Desaulniers couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Francesco Di Lillo made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Christian Desaulniers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61stth minute of the game Hershel Guertin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sunnyvale FC's Melchor Elija was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Sunnyvale FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Kirk Camacho hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Carlo Sansouci managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Carlo Sansouci was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melchor Elija breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kirk Camacho kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Francesco Di Lillo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Kristian Martinsson. Kristian Martinsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Melchor Elija was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sunnyvale FC's attentive Beau Mayo managed to snatch the ball when Cruz Lentz made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game. In the 86th minute of the game Hershel Guertin made a throw-in which Francesco Basso played forward. Jerry Brunault got a throw-in 88 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Francesco Basso. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qiao Qi Bo in the 91st minute of play forced Sunnyvale FC's goalkeeper Melchor Elija to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Octav Chificeac came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Fenerbahçe S.K. fans jumped to their feet. With 95 minutes on the clock, Felice Patricelli commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fenerbahçe S.K.! The Fenerbahçe S.K. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sunnyvale FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sunnyvale FC.
