Mosquera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heli Lodero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sam Van Heerle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonchan Sesma having to interfere. Gonchan Sesma came out of the goal and Sam Van Heerle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gonchan Sesma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Van Heerle in the 45th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sam Van Heerle in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonchan Sesma prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Sam Van Heerle made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Sam Van Heerle took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Gonchan Sesma to make any attempt to save it. Gonchan Sesma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Van Heerle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
