The supporters of Bolívar booed when Manchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Abar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Manchester City's Txindoki Abeijon in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bolívar's Juaneizu Abajas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Txindoki Abeijon in the 27th minute of play. Rogelio Abadie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juaneizu Abajas having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Rogelio Abadie made a precise shot to the right of Juaneizu Abajas. Bolívar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Claude Abenda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Txindoki Abeijon was the one to do the kick off. Opilano Abeijon's late challenge caught a Bolívar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Opilano Abeijon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Opilano Abeijon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Manchester City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
