The throw-in from Danilo Abecia in the 47th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sporting Cristal's Mino Abellaneda. 48 minutes into the game, Sporting Cristal's Wágner Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bihar Abastas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1.

In the 57th minute, Wágner Andrade made a precise shot to the right of Bihar Abastas. UNIVERSITARIO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-1. If Louis Zantke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bihar Abastas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wágner Andrade's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wágner Andrade in the 96th minute of play forced UNIVERSITARIO's goalkeeper Bihar Abastas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sporting Cristal had played much better football throughout.
