Marcelo Barovero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihai Gherase, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Marcelo Barovero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iordanis Anastasiadis in the 8th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Boğaçhan Akyel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oscar Frascuelo. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Mihai Gherase received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marcelo Barovero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tales Fernandez's late challenge caught a River CBBA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tales Fernandez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of River CBBA booed when Octavia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tales Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Argoitz Abeijon managed to get in a good position for a shot. River CBBA's supporters rose to their feet, but Argoitz Abeijon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Frascuelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 33 minutes into the match, River CBBA's goal looked a bit too open when Nesor Abadie came free, but Marcelo Barovero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iordanis Anastasiadis in the 39th minute of play. In the 46th minute Nesor Abadie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Barovero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juan Funes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oscar Frascuelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Funes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, River CBBA's Boğaçhan Akyel got a free kick in the 51st minute. Esteban Abeita hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute of the match Sergio Batista sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oscar Frascuelo skillfully saved the ball. Mihai Gherase kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. River CBBA's Ponciano Abarca was substituted for Juan Funes. River CBBA's Varis Birgelis was substituted for Hector Enrique. After some careless play in the Octavia defense, Ponciano Abarca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oscar Frascuelo. The Octavia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oscar Frascuelo should have stopped the shot. Octavia's Oscar Frascuelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Argoitz Abeijon in the 74th minute of play. After 75 minutes Octavia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sergio Batista who took care of the corner kick. After 85 played minutes River CBBA got a freekick which was hit by Ponciano Abarca. After some careless play in the Octavia defense, Ponciano Abarca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oscar Frascuelo. The Octavia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oscar Frascuelo should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute, Ponciano Abarca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Argoitz Abeijon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Oscar Frascuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Octavia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for River CBBA.
