A collision led to Medina getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Iker Fabelo hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, Iker Fabelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palmitas FC's Montez Legaspi couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Medina. Panpili Collado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Lubiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute of the match Palmitas FC got a corner. Medina's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Montez Legaspi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Montez Legaspi made a great header on Palmitas FC's corner, it was just that Medina's Panpili Collado managed to reach the ball for a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

If Leonel Lubiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Leonel Lubiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Lubiano in the 58th minute of play forced Medina's goalkeeper Panpili Collado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Palmitas FC booed when Medina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donatello Pedreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Medina's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
