After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Asteguieta got free with Rutenio Piñon in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Michel Asteguieta in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rutenio Piñon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rutenio Piñon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Abeita in the 93rd minute of play. After having played for 94 minutes, Michel Asteguieta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verdun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Asteguieta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Despite being the better team, Riverofc failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
