An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Eguiara in the 13th minute of play forced Atlantida FC's goalkeeper Serafin Bueras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pacifico Aldaz's late challenge caught a Mendizabal AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pacifico Aldaz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mendizabal AFC booed when Atlantida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pacifico Aldaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Nunez Vallejo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Atlantida FC's Serafin Bueras. Serafin Bueras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nunez Vallejo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serafin Bueras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Eguiara in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Jonathan Eguiara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafin Bueras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Eguiara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Serafin Bueras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nunez Vallejo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Eguiara was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Atlantida FC booed when Mendizabal AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florinio Sopuerta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58thth minute of the game Pacifico Aldaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mendizabal AFC's Marino Estopinal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Aurelio Olarria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marino Estopinal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pacifico Aldaz went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 64 minutes, Nunez Vallejo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mendizabal AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nunez Vallejo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Jonathan Eguiara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mendizabal AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Eguiara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafin Bueras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Nunez Vallejo came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Mendizabal AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nunez Vallejo couldn't finish the play. Serafin Bueras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Eguiara, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Nunez Vallejo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafin Bueras having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Jonathan Eguiara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aurelio Olarria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Marino Estopinal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marino Estopinal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Olarria in the 95th minute of play. The Atlantida FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
