A hard shot 8 in the game by Luis Galiana from a close distance when the talented Sanchez Yanes managed to make a qualified save. FCE Montevideo's players were relieved. Silvino Puentes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hotz Pazos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Albisu FC's Freddy Aberasturi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Albisu FC's Luis Galiana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sanchez Yanes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lourenco Morillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Sanchez Yanes made a huge save. Luis Galiana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FCE Montevideo's Sanchez Yanes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Galiana in the 24th minute of play. Xulio Candina charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xulio Candina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Criston Sana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvino Puentes having to interfere. Etxahun Sancha's late challenge caught a FCE Montevideo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Etxahun Sancha helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Albisu FC's zone, Criston Sana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvino Puentes came out of the goal and Criston Sana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albisu FC's Silvino Puentes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Criston Sana in the 37th minute of play. When Lourenco Morillo came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Albisu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lourenco Morillo couldn't finish the play. Hotz Pazos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Galiana was the one to do the kick off. Criston Sana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Herminio Portela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sanchez Yanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Galiana in the 64th minute of play. Sanchez Yanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Galiana, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Luis Galiana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Lourenco Morillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sanchez Yanes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 85th minute Luis Galiana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sanchez Yanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hotz Pazos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvino Puentes having to interfere. FCE Montevideo's Sanchez Yanes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lourenco Morillo in the 97th minute of play. FCE Montevideo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
