Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Ramin in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmacio Guerrico prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 17 played minutes Palmeras got a freekick which was hit by Geofredo Adrada. Cordaro Campon might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dalmacio Guerrico. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cordaro Campon ran back to his position shaking his head. If Angelo Ramin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeras's goalkeeper Dalmacio Guerrico, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Angelo Ramin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmacio Guerrico read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Niva Plaza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Guerrico having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Eliazar Padriña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the game, C.A.Peñarol's Angelo Ramin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dalmacio Guerrico made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geofredo Adrada made a kick off. Palmeras's Dalmacio Guerrico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Ramin in the 51st minute of play. Niva Plaza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute Angelo Ramin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmacio Guerrico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C.A.Peñarol's Weather Bonal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonchan Teixido in the 61st minute of play. Dalmacio Guerrico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niva Plaza, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toli Acenero during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 67 minutes, C.A.Peñarol's Palos Osaviaga got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dalmacio Guerrico. When Cordaro Campon came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the C.A.Peñarol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cordaro Campon couldn't finish the play. After 77 minutes of play Palmeras's Chus Prus was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Palmeras getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Chus Prus hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, Palmeras's goalkeeper Dalmacio Guerrico had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angelo Ramin. With a little luck, Palmeras's Dalmacio Guerrico got control of the ball when Angelo Ramin tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Palmeras booed when C.A.Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niva Plaza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Cordaro Campon managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.Peñarol's supporters rose to their feet, but Cordaro Campon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dalmacio Guerrico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Niva Plaza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Ramins short, quick shot in the 98thth minute got Dalmacio Guerrico to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Palmeras fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. C.A.Peñarol were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
