Placido Huertas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xines Sobarzo having to interfere. Moise Farias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Goito Zuazna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Placido Huertas notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Aguada's Xines Sobarzo. Xines Sobarzo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Xines Sobarzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Persol, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 30 minutes into the game, Donato Persol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aguada the free kick. After 30 played minutes Salto got a freekick which was hit by Donato Persol. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moise Farias got free with Goito Zuazna in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Egun Siruendo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Goito Zuazna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goito Zuazna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moise Farias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goito Zuazna made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Moise Farias sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Aguada's Urdaspal Vuelva got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half Salto were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Placido Huertas made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Salto's Placido Huertas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xines Sobarzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Aguada's Xines Sobarzo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Aguada from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herensuge Lorden during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute, Herensuge Lorden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Aguada getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Txema Canseco hit a great ball. Xines Sobarzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Placido Huertas in the 66th minute of play. Nerio Galbarruri lost his temper 72 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Aguada fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Salto. Gaueko Tormes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Xines Sobarzo. 0-3. Xines Sobarzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Placido Huertas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xines Sobarzo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Salto's Herensuge Lorden got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute. The referee ordered Herensuge Lorden off the ground. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Salto had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
