William Peredes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Fernandez Barrionuevo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Henry Jimenez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Fernandez Barrionuevo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. William Peredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandez Barrionuevo having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Cerro Oriental's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Luan came free, but Nereo Elvira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernandez Barrionuevo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telis Briakos, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 84 played minutes, Cerro Oriental's Saturnin Navagos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernandez Barrionuevo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cerro Oriental reached it. Orlando Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match.
