But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rigoberto Ruis couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute, Castel Cayon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joanico FC's Idacio Ruiloba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Joanico FC from getting a goal against them. In the 23rdth minute of the game Mario Galban who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Joanico FC's Idacio Ruiloba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Idacio Ruiloba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Galban in the 25th minute of play. After 30 played minutes ciudad de la costa FC got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Vasaburu. Santiago Sarria was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Santiago Sarria hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Leizarraga Castaños's late challenge caught a ciudad de la costa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leizarraga Castaños helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Joanico FC got a freekick which was hit by Leizarraga Castaños. Freddy Vasaburu, 36 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Idacio Ruiloba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mario Galban in the 37th minute. Mario Galban blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Idacio Ruiloba having to make a save. Mario Galban in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Idacio Ruiloba, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Joanico FC's Idacio Ruiloba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Galban in the 45th minute of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Freddy Vasaburu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ciudad de la costa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddy Vasaburu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mario Galban to make the kick off. Oriol Villalain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes Joanico FC got a freekick which was hit by Leizarraga Castaños. Freddy Vasaburu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mario Galban in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Idacio Ruiloba saved Joanico FC from getting behind. In the 67th minute Mario Galban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Idacio Ruiloba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Joanico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leizarraga Castaños to maneuver through the defense. Freddy Vasaburu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Idacio Ruiloba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado Puellas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xurde Amigo in the 78th minute. After 80 minutes, Mario Galban made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Joanico FC's Idacio Ruiloba tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Conrado Puellas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oriol Villalain might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Conrado Puellas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oriol Villalain ran back to his position shaking his head. ciudad de la costa FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
