Riffo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merinos the free kick. Cheche Nicola hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Riffo's Inaki Cuyar got control of the ball when Hustaz Revillas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sasoin Villaverde's late challenge caught a Merinos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sasoin Villaverde helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Merinos booed when Riffo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sasoin Villaverde didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Riffo's zone, Hustaz Revillas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inaki Cuyar came out of the goal and Hustaz Revillas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the game, Urdaspal Buitrago was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Riffo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merinos the free kick. A collision led to Riffo getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Urdaspal Buitrago hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Riffo's zone, Domiku Navia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inaki Cuyar came out of the goal and Domiku Navia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 18 played minutes Riffo got a freekick which was hit by Sasoin Villaverde. In the 25th minute, Domiku Navia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domiku Navia got free with Inaki Cuyar in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodrigo Saldivar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Zahonero in the 29th minute of play. Valeriu Condrea hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Riffo's zone, Domiku Navia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inaki Cuyar came out of the goal and Domiku Navia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute of the match Oihan Cruz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodrigo Saldivar skillfully saved the ball. Rodas Parcerices hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

In the 53rd minute of the match Merinos got a corner. Riffo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Baran Alp Habiboğlu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Riffo's goalie and right to Rodas Parcerices. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Riffo's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Urdaspal Buitrago was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. Urdaspal Buitrago kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Baiardo Vilanova kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 65 minutes, Oihan Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Riffo and the Merinos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baiardo Vilanova might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inaki Cuyar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baiardo Vilanova ran back to his position shaking his head. If Baiardo Vilanova had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Merinos fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Merinos's Domiku Navia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domiku Navia in the 89th minute of play forced Riffo's goalkeeper Inaki Cuyar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94thth minute of the game Domiku Navia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Riffo's Inaki Cuyar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 96 played minutes, Merinos's Valeriu Condrea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Inaki Cuyar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Merinos reached it. When the referee ended the match the Merinos players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
