Spectators: 7504 (Terracing: 5629, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 149) Taio Udoy's late challenge caught a Tornado Athletic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Taio Udoy helped the player get up and apologised. Denis Losado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Peñarol's goalkeeper Mauricio Bruñon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hernandez Delatorre. In the 18th minute, Denis Losado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Haimar Murguia during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute, one of Tornado Athletic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tornado Athletic. In the 25th match minute, Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerardo Fandoz to maneuver through the defense. Lluis Camporredondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Goncalve Porrata in the 33rd minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Taio Udoy threw the ball into play from the sideline. Tornado Athletic's Fausto Biembengén quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Peñarol's Mauricio Bruñon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Losado in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernandez Delatorre in the 47th minute of play forced Peñarol's goalkeeper Mauricio Bruñon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Denis Losado to strike the kick off in the second half. Hernandez Delatorre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Bruñon having to interfere. Pabla Camino charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pabla Camino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 53rd minute, Pabla Camino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lon Martiniana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Mauricio Bruñon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lluis Camporredondo made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Jerardo Fandoz sent off a good shot on target. A sloppy throw-in by Flavio Samamies in the 69th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Tornado Athletic's Hernandez Delatorre. Mauricio Bruñon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernandez Delatorre in the 73rd minute of the match. Lluis Camporredondo made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Goncalve Porrata sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Lluis Camporredondo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mauricio Bruñon came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Tornado Athletic's Hernandez Delatorre. But to his dismay, Hernandez Delatorre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Mauricio Bruñon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernandez Delatorre went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 93rd minute, Pabla Camino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Tornado Athletic had played much better football throughout.
