The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dinu Mocanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Silviano Llantada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 minutes, Oliveiro Vesga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minas and the Fanbeba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Clodoveo Jerrold struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gero Cora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fanbeba. Fanbeba's Clodoveo Jerrold got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clodoveo Jerrold scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gero Cora, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 32 minutes into the game, Fanbeba's Dinu Mocanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gero Cora made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Dinu Mocanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gero Cora having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Laurgain Gamarra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Fanbeba's Dinu Mocanu in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Minas's goalie prevented a goal. If Pancho Navariega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Minas booed when Fanbeba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gervasio Rioja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rik Ladrada acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 46th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bras Albarellos. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliveiro Vesga made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Fanbeba's Clodoveo Jerrold dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. After a rather tough play, Fanbeba's Victor Cañon got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Pancho Navariega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliveiro Vesga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gero Cora made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Clodoveo Jerrold sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute, Estefan Font left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fanbeba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Gero Cora made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clodoveo Jerrold in the 91st minute. Gero Cora was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Clodoveo Jerrold showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 94 minute of play. Fanbeba played a much better game than Minas and deserved their victory. The Minas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
