Sal Santillion was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Cirilo Figueiras hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Inigo Chacin struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Fonso Lasurtigui didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goni AFC. The supporters of Maturrango booed when Goni AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inautzi Solis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sal Santillion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Garin in the 31st minute of the match. Sal Santillion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Dobale in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inigo Chacin in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fonso Lasurtigui saved Maturrango from getting behind. Inigo Chacin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fonso Lasurtigui having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Maturrango's Santo Palazuelo got a free kick in the 56th minute. After 67 minutes, Inigo Chacin made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Maturrango's Fonso Lasurtigui tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcelino Dobale blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sal Santillion having to make a save. Marcelino Dobale who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Sal Santillion when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ryan Garin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Marcelino Dobale got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The long shot by Raul Legazpi in the 91st minute really tested Sal Santillion's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Inigo Chacin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Goni AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
