Sauce's Lander Cruzado became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ospetsu Valdez got free with Hermelando Ascargorta in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 9 played minutes Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Iigo Sigüenza. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleto Oyaga during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Estebano Ociña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the game, one of Nacional:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Hermelando Ascargorta, was totally fooled by Sauce's Dolcet Cubria, who 21 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 31 minutes into the match, Sauce's goal looked a bit too open when Estebano Ociña came free, but Lander Cruzado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Nacional's Cleto Oyaga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lander Cruzado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Lander Cruzado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Estebano Ociña's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Lander Cruzado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleto Oyaga in the 40th minute of the match. Estebano Ociña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lander Cruzado having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Estebano Ociña notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Sauce's Lander Cruzado. Lander Cruzado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Rodrigo Balmaceda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodrigo Balmaceda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lander Cruzado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Estebano Ociña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. The audience was convinced that Estebano Ociña's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lander Cruzado was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Cleto Oyaga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lander Cruzado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Estebano Ociña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Balmaceda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lander Cruzado was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Nacional's Estebano Ociña got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
