Emilio Oca was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 42 played minutes peñarolero got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Oca. Elija Caviedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ekain Sarmiento in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vitin Gabiña was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermon Lugo in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elija Caviedes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 55thth minute of the game Hermon Lugo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but peñarolero's Elija Caviedes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. peñarolero's Elija Caviedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermon Lugo in the 57th minute of play. Ekain Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Elija Caviedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
