In the 36th minute, Macario Barbero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nacional de Paysandu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 41 played minutes Cuaro got a freekick which was hit by Salbatore Carulla. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodas Agulla in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerold Dorrial prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodas Agulla in the 46th minute of play forced Cuaro's goalkeeper Jerold Dorrial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Macario Barbero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerold Dorrial was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Nacional de Paysandu's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
