Roque Bergues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cruz Bobadilla in the 13th minute of play. Quinton Fontecha charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With his leg Roque Bergues managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Yacot FC's Silvio Jonsansoro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Coquimbo's zone, Silvio Jonsansoro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roque Bergues came out of the goal and Silvio Jonsansoro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ado Lejarazu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berasko Villadiego, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Berasko Villadiego received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ado Lejarazu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cruz Bobadilla to make the kick off. Carolo Giumill hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute of the match, Berasko Villadiego tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ado Lejarazu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
