Spectators: 6694 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rexino Yunibarbia took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Tacuarembo booed when Abayuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Indar Helguera didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Gabriel Acereda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Rexino Yunibarbia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Blai Gallinas. The goal made the score 1-1. Blai Gallinas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miro Zubillaga in the 22nd minute. Frances Rivero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the game, Abayuba's Frances Rivero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Laureano Serans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Frances Rivero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Laureano Serans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Regaño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eduardo Regaño made a kick off. The Abayuba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Blai Gallinas should have stopped the shot. 72 minutes into the match, Tacuarembo's goal looked a bit too open when Zosimo Hordas came free, but Laureano Serans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes Abayuba got a freekick which was hit by Frances Rivero. In the 75th minute Rexino Yunibarbia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blai Gallinas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rexino Yunibarbia in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Blai Gallinas saved Abayuba from getting behind. Blai Gallinas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miro Zubillaga in the 81st minute of play. Laureano Serans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frances Rivero in the 84th minute. When Frances Rivero came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Abayuba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frances Rivero couldn't finish the play. Rexino Yunibarbia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Blai Gallinas having to make a save. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tacuarembo's goalkeeper Laureano Serans, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Abayuba failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
