Josu Palacios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ixaka Oviedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Harriet Albear had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Canelones AFC's goalkeeper Josu Palacios had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olivar Riazos. 24 minutes into the match, Olivar Riazos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Josu Palacios, 1-0. Olivar Riazos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Josu Palacios made a huge save. 32 minutes into the match, Canelones AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ixaka Oviedo came free, but Josu Palacios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ixaka Oviedo in the 34th minute of play forced Canelones AFC's goalkeeper Josu Palacios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josu Palacios made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Helder Solloso sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xose Salterain made a kick off. The supporters of Canelones AFC booed when La banda del Marron was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sasoin Sevane didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ixaka Oviedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Josu Palacios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lartaun Puellas during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 56 played minutes La banda del Marron got a freekick which was hit by Lartaun Puellas. Josu Palacios stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olivar Riazos's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. If Ixaka Oviedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the game, Olivar Riazos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Josu Palacios was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Harriet Albear received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Isauro Olivares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ixaka Oviedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josu Palacios. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ixaka Oviedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josu Palacios having to interfere. Isauro Olivares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xose Salterain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olivar Riazos scored 4-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Josu Palacios, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Fredrik Olsson fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La banda del Marron's protests and gave Fredrik Olsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th minute, Fredrik Olsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, La banda del Marron's goalkeeper Isauro Olivares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harriet Albear. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Xose Salterain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canelones AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xose Salterain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isauro Olivares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
