A collision led to Canelones AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jeremias Ballejos hit a great ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Xabel Cabañeros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xabel Cabañeros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Canelones AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cuartio Velayo came free, but Josu Palacios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Tala booed when Canelones AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrico Yaner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillem Salvatierra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josu Palacios having to interfere. Adan Vizcarra charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adan Vizcarra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes Tala got a freekick which was hit by Adan Vizcarra. Guillem Salvatierra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Josu Palacios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xose Salterain to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Xose Salterain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canelones AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xose Salterain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Txema Alcedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Canelones AFC booed when Tala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epifanio Calles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Txema Alcedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xose Salterain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cuartio Velayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josu Palacios. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cuartio Velayo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute, Inigo Cavadilla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Epifanio Calles fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tala's protests and gave Epifanio Calles a yellow card for diving instead. Cuartio Velayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Inigo Cavadilla hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Canelones AFC's Josu Palacios proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Canelones AFC from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henrico Yaner during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 85th match minute, Canelones AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrico Yaner to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Canelones AFC's Nahia Trinidad got a free kick in the 88th minute.
