After having played for 4 minutes, Manuelo Sebastian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tacuarembo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuelo Sebastian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tacuarembo FC's Incendio Pubill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vidal Lastras in the 16th minute of play. If Ipar Temiño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beltza Izcaray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuelo Sebastian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuelo Sebastian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Manuelo Sebastian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beltza Izcaray was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 35thth minute of the game Manuelo Sebastian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cerrillos FC's Beltza Izcaray was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuelo Sebastian in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Beltza Izcaray saved Cerrillos FC from getting behind. 43 minutes into the match, Cerrillos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Manuelo Sebastian came free, but Beltza Izcaray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 60th minute of the match Honesto Varga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Incendio Pubill skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Cerrillos FC booed when Tacuarembo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Resto Altuve didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Tacuarembo FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cerrillos FC throughout the match.
