After a defensive mix-up in PEÑAROL's zone, Egoi Ponga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermon Adarzo came out of the goal and Egoi Ponga tried to chip the ball over his head. PEÑAROL's players were relieved. Fresco Vicioso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benet Bustamante in the 20th minute of the match. Egoi Ponga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermon Adarzo having to interfere. Tomas Izmendi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Hermon Adarzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egoi Ponga got free with Hermon Adarzo in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in PEÑAROL's zone, Gaudencio Folch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermon Adarzo came out of the goal and Gaudencio Folch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Gaudencio Folch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hermon Adarzo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Egoi Ponga in the 46th minute. Amancio Cortiguera struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Hermon Adarzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carpinteria. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benet Bustamante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL's goal looked a bit too open when Egoi Ponga came free, but Hermon Adarzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Onbera Ferreiras kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 60thth minute of the game Egoi Ponga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PEÑAROL's Hermon Adarzo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hermon Adarzo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egoi Ponga's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Amancio Cortiguera might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hermon Adarzo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amancio Cortiguera ran back to his position shaking his head. Egoi Ponga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Hermon Adarzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Egoi Ponga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermon Adarzo was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Amancio Cortiguera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 84 played minutes PEÑAROL got a freekick which was hit by Checa Allonca. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Egoi Ponga put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Hermon Adarzo. If Egoi Ponga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
